Matters of the Heart

It’s not that simple or clear-cut – and I wonder if it ever is when it comes to matters of the heart – Emily Griffin

Well the matters of the heart might not be clear cut, but the cards surely are. 😊

Valentine’s day Gift bags

February is the month of love and showing love entails gifting. 😜😍

I’ve bought a fresh stock of good quality printed paper and with my new cricut machine, I’m whipping up quite a storm.

I’ve made these small gift bags – to gift chocolates, or jewellery to your valentine.

The bags are embellished with bows/hearts and look so pretty that they are a gift by themself.

Pop-up Flower Bouquet Card

I got my first crafting machine (cuttlebug) about 10 years ago. After a few years of creating lot of getting cards on it, I craved for more. I had my eye on another machine (cricut) and secretly pinned for it. It was a costly machine and didn’t know whether I could justify it’s purchase. But recently I acquired this mean machine and I’m thrilled. After the initial trials to get the hang of it, I made this first project – a pop-up Flower bouquet card.

Pink Paper Peonies

On 31st January this year, I started my 100 day challenge on instagram (hasabnissharmila) – to post a picture of a paper craft project for 100 consecutive days. Today it is the 100th day and I’ve completed the challenge by making pink paper peonies.

This activity helped me by keeping me focused on creating something new every day, instead of worrying about the destruction that was going around due to the pandemic. Creativity definitely brings a sense of calm and peace, specially when you are troubled and worrying.

Do follow me on Instagram if you wish to see more arts and crafts as I plan to continue creating.

Today I’m here to announce that finally I’m on instagram.

I’ve taken part in the #100dayproject2021 and I’ll be posting one paper craft every day continuously for 100 days. It’s already day 22 and I’m still raring to go.

Today’s post is a European arched window with a flower box handcrafted by using die cuts. Notice the brick wall background done by embossing, the clear glass pane and pleated curtains made from paper.

Valentine’s Day Exploding Memory Box

Here’s wishing all a Happy Valentine’s Day, with a exploding memory box.
The lid is decorated with red roses on a lace doily and butterflies (you get them in your stomach when you are in love)

Exploding Memory Box

You open the lid, and the box explodes revealing a central basket full of chocolate. 4 panels open up.

The left panel has decorated photo corners for tucking in a photograph of you and your love. The bottom panel has a heart punched pouch where you can tuck your gift – a ring perhaps. The panel at the right has a little secret place to insert a love note with a kiss. And the top panel has a beautiful origami heart with a love sentiment opening up like a hug.
An all in one gift fit your loved one.

Make me immortal with a kiss.

– Karen Marie Moning

Today is Kiss Day in Valentine’s Week. So I made a greeting card gift to give a loved one. This card is where art meets engineering, cute meets nerdy.

Embossed Greeting Cards

Hi friends, I’m beginning the new year with renewed vigour and a resolve to find new creative ways to showcase my creations since I can’t hold exhibitions in these pandemic times.

It’s a new year, so new paper, new design : here is my collection of 60 embossed greeting cards in different designs such as flowers, butterflies, swirls etc. and in many colours like off-white, olive green, red, maroon and pink etc.

The cards are blank (and have an envelope) so that they can be personalized for any occasion.

Stamping Flower Bouquets

Stamping designs on paper is a fun activity that we’ve been doing since childhood.

The first stamps that we created were by cutting vegetables like potato and okra/ladies finger.

Nowadays you get lovely rubber stamps with beautiful designs. I have done a lot of Stamping before, so this time I tried to give it a 3 dimensional look by stamping on colored paper and then cutting the outline and sticking on a card sheet.

Et voilà!! Two beautiful greeting cards.

I have added stamped Birthday greetings, but you can add any wishes like Happy Diwali or Happy New Year.

White Elegance

This week my ‘Brahma Kamal’ or ‘orchid cactus’ or ‘queen of the night’ plant was in full bloom and the all white flowers were truly divine.  Inspired by the grace and purity of the colour white I decided to make a couple of greeting cards in white.  I used the daisy punch for the flowers and the leaves die from Couture Creations.  A few pearls and viola!!!

The left over pieces of paper after cutting the leaves and flowers were put to good use as frames as seen in my last post.
